Meet the Staff: Spring

Where is your favorite place to visit on a nice spring day?

Joe Korba, Associate Publisher: I love taking walks down the Weissport Canal, maybe doing some fishing as I go.

I grew up near Red Bank, NJ, and I worked there for almost a year as a freelance reporter in 2012-2013. I fell in love with it all over again, particularly Marine Park which offers gorgeous views of the Navesink River. It lent itself to some of my favorite photographs (right) and I spent countless afternoons there, just basking in the glow of the sun reflecting off the water when I wanted a moment’s peace.

Catherine Stroh, Publishing Assistant: My favorite local places to enjoy a spring day would be Rita’s and the local walking trails.

Tony Pisco, Art Director: Coca-Cola Park is nice, but I’d head down to Reading to FirstEnergy Stadium to catch a Fightin’ Phils baseball game. That’s a great way to spend a nice spring day.

Alice Wanamaker, Editorial Assistant: The Walnutport Canal. I know I have said it before, but I will say it again: we are blessed to have a gem of an outdoor resource at our disposal. The sights, sounds, and scents of spring will be in their glory in a few weeks along the Walnutport Canal. I can’t wait!

Donna Bachman, Accounting Manager: After long winters, spring does not come soon enough. When spring finally arrives and the weather cooperates, I love to be outside enjoying the activities that arrive; soccer practices for the grandsons, and the playgrounds to release some of the cooped-up winter energy they have accumulated.
