I don’t watch football, so the only parts of the Super Bowl that interest me are the commercials and the halftime show. And if said commercials feature some cute and fuzzy critters, even better. Budweiser, long known for frogs, ferrets, and the classic Clydesdales, have recently found that nothing accompanies a beautiful horse better than an adorable puppy. We met the #BestBuds during last year’s Super Bowl commercial: A litter of little labs was being sold close to the horses’ farm and one spunky pup in particular bonded with the gentle giants. So the hunky horse guy brought him home and the horse and pup forged a friendship for the advertising age. This year, the little guy sees his horse friend getting packed up for a trip and decides to tag along, but gets terribly lost in the process. Set to a heart-wrenching rendition of “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” performed by Sleeping At Last, the 60-second spot chronicles his journey home. I don’t know why this is supposed to make me want to drink Bud, but maybe they should consider selling travel pouches of tissues with their 6-packs. View the commercial below.
