Home Recycled Home: Thanksgiving Napkin Rings

By Alice Wanamaker

Are you looking for cute, inexpensive ways to personalize your Thanksgiving table this year? Try making your own napkin rings using items you have around the house.

You will need:

  • Empty paper towel roll or toilet paper roll
  • Scissors
  • Clear drying glue
  • Permanent markers and paint
  • Items to decorate and personalize napkin rings – glitter, ribbon, feathers, etc.

Carefully cut napkin roll into 1 inch thick pieces (larger if desired). Decorate with your choice of materials.
Personalize each one with a unique message or help your guests find their seats by having the rings serve double duty as placeholders at the table. The napkin rings can be reused each year or send your guests home with a reminder of the day you shared together.
Home Recycled Home will be a new feature each month in the Town & Country Gazette. Each craft will use items that you may have lying around the house or can easily acquire by asking friends and neighbors. Be sure to check back in the New Year for great crafts that utilize recycled items and add a unique touch to your home!
